We are looking for a highly skilled financial professional who will work with one of our clients, a high school located in Mowe, Ogun State, as Head of Finance and Treasury.
Position Overview
As the Head of Finance and Treasury, you will play a critical role in the effective management and oversight of the school's financial operations. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, implementing financial policies and procedures, and providing strategic financial guidance to the school administration.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Compliance and Leadership
- Oversee the day-to-day financial activities of the high school, including budgeting, financial planning, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Develop and implement sound financial controls to safeguard the school's assets.
- Manage the school's banking relationships and cash flow.
- Lead and mentor members of the bursary department, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Financial Reporting & Tax Management
- Prepare financial statements, budgets, and financial forecasts.
- Provide financial analysis and support for decision-making.
- Tax planning and liaison with tax officials and regulatory authorities
- Bank reconciliations
Cost Analysis and Stock Management
- Cost Variance Management
- GRN & SRN Controls of all School Stores/Warehouses
- Stock Reconciliations
- Cost and Variance Analysis
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or an equivalent relevant degree.
- Professional Certification: Any one of ACCA, ACMA, or ACA
- Proven experience in financial management leadership.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team-oriented environment with good emotional intelligence.
- Demonstrated leadership and managerial abilities with at least eight years of experience.
